Cindy Warden Cindy has been practicing yoga since 1989 when she found the perfect laid-back antidote to her previous 15 years spent staring at the bottom of a swimming pool and whipping around on the lacrosse field. Having tried different types of yoga and gaining certification as a Yoga Fit instructor, Cindy ultimately discovered her niche with Erich Schiffman’s freedom style, an eclectic blend of all that is wonderful in yoga. She has completed Erich’s intensive teacher training course, as well as numerous workshops with him. To further her yoga study, Cindy travels both domestically and internationally to study with various yoga masters. Recently, her practice is most inspired by the Anusara teachers John Friend, Anne Greene and Todd Norian. In addition to yoga, Cindy also teaches meditation. Her initial interest and training in meditation occurred while she was earning her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh . She has successfully used meditation in her professional practice with clients suffering from chronic pain, cancer, and recent amputations. She has studied meditation with masters such as Tias Little and Cindy Lee. When not teaching, Cindy works as a psychologist, enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, aimless wandering and reading. “Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.” In the spirit of Schweitzer’s words, Cindy is eternally grateful to her friends, teachers, and students who have given her the opportunity and skills to devote herself to sharing the light of yoga with others.
