Maga Sanchez-Dahl Maga is a certified blue belt Nia Instructor. Nia combines a diverse blend of Eastern and Western movements, concepts and philosophies from the worlds of the healing arts, martial arts and dance. In 2001, while living in NYC she first read about the Nia Technique and before her first class was over she knew it was something she wanted to pursue further. From the very beginning she discovered a real passion for dance, and a profound love and appreciation for music. In 2002, she took her white belt certification with Caroline Kohles, co-founder of Nia New York . More recently in 2006, she took her blue belt training with Nia Technique founders Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas. Through Nia she has discovered that there is always a good reason to dance and move the body, but also to cherish the moments when she is not. Maga has practiced Yoga for 13 years, in Manhattan she learned about different styles of Yoga - Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Iyengar, Jivamukti, and Kundalini. In 1997 she took a teachers training, the Terson Therapeutic Yoga Program. She believes her Yoga teachers have been an instrumental part in her path of body work and self discovery. She had the pleasure to learn from Mikelle Terson, Shelley Piser and Noll Daniel. She has personally experienced the benefits of Yoga - for years she suffered daily severe headaches, but after a few months of practicing Yoga the headaches disappeared almost like magic and haven’t come back since. Born and raised in Mexico City , Maga has lived in the US since 1992. She holds an AAS in Interior Design and a BA in Business Administration. She enjoys living in Pittsburgh with her husband Roberto and three children.
