Joanne Spence Your calm, warm, and open vibe set the tone for the studio I think. So different from other places that I have practiced, in such a good way. Thank you. You have helped me begin to find the illusive but precious "stillness" in a harried world. Thank you, my TEACHER. Joanne's teaching style takes us deep inside ourselves so that we start to understand how and why we are reacting to each posture as we do --- and to make our minds a part of each posture. There is a peace, sincerity, and focus about Joanne. Her Fitness Yoga for Beginners and Fitness Yoga have taught me the essential role of acceptance, stillness, and breath in my yoga practice. As an athlete, I came into the studio thinking about and practicing yoga very physically (in the traditional sense). Joann's classes made me aware that the "physical" part of yoga is as much about stillness as it is about movement and is as much about acceptance of what is as it is about exploring what else is possible.
